在土壤酸碱值介于3、4、5、6、7或8的土壤里生长5个月后，红毛榴莲秧苗的茎干长度、叶子数量、茎干直径、干物质量及叶子组织的衡量显示其成长并没有受到不同土壤酸碱值的影响，植株长势都略同而且之间的叶子內各种养素含量也没有明显差别。这项试验说明红毛榴莲可长于各种土酸的土壤，展现出他与其他作物大有不同之处。
