红鳞虫 (California red scale，学名 Aonidiella aurantii Mask，附于柚子树嫩枝叶及枝条摄取树汁造成这些部份逐渐干枯，叶子掉落枝条死亡。一些蚂蚁将这害虫传播至树的其它部份使到传染率快速尤其在干燥日。被红鳞虫附属的部份很快长出黑霉并覆蓋枝条与叶子，光合作用锐减不在话下。雌与雄红鱗虫身上长有鳞片，一只雌虫能在其生命周期生下100 – 150只虫。
应对红鳞虫可使用白油(例如 Albarol，13ml/4.5公升水；Shell Miscible White Oil，57ml/4.5公升水)或者使用 chlorpyrifos (例如 Donshot 155，37 – 70ml/18公升水) 或 malathion (CH Malaxion 84 EC，15ml/4.5公升水) 每间隔7 – 14天喷洒来对付红鳞虫及蚂蚁。黑霉则以 benomyl (例如 Benlate 4克/4.5公升水) 來处理。
