榴莲品种太多了，而且各自有自己的代号。例如PG14或D14，就不知代号的來源。还好，这品种有个与众不同的外观，那就是大果刺。这一点足以让粉丝从众多品种中分辨出来。它的果刺粗大，肥胖，宽大及个头大，一些带点灰色感且有带青的刺基部。
D14乃槟城至今仍未向农业局注册的品种之一。所以说，这仅是代号，并非正式的编号。其果形有些不规律，果尾有个模糊的斑状。深金黄的肉色很吸睛。有沉重感的果肉但完全没有纤维。果皮很薄，剥开后露出奶油色泽的果肉，种子很小甚至蛀籽多，这添增了美好的肉感。口感则相当浓郁，带有椰子巧克力风味。两个字来结束这品种的讲述-好吃！
